Once a tiny fishing village, Carvoeiro is now one of the most beautiful international tourists’ resorts in the Algarve. Traditional houses curve around the port, where colourful fishing boats still chug back and forth and fishermen continue to eke out a living, much as their fathers and grandfathers did before them. Carvoeiro’s lively main square, which is located right next to the sea, is surrounded by restaurants and bars. Often, during the holiday season, free live entertainment is laid on for visitors.
