Vila de Frades has a number of religious buildings, but from the point of view of magnificent vistas over the surrounding countryside, a climb to the chapel of Santo António is a must. From there one can see all that the Alentejo offers, from a patchwork of small orchards, vineyards and olive groves, to wide corn fields. Vila de Frades forms part of the region’s wine route. The Ermida de Nossa Senhora da Guadalupe is also worth visiting, although at the moment it is in bad state of conservation. In the Rua Luís de Camões is a clock tower dated 1890.
