Valmitão Beach lies near Ribamar, 7 km southwest of Lourinhã and is less crowded than other beaches in the area, although it provides good conditions for surfing, body boarding, diving and underwater fishing and the sea is very rich in iodine. This is an EEC blue flag beach, with lifeguards on duty in season, and facilities for the disabled. The average seawater temperature in summer is 17-18 ºC, parking is available and there are bars, cafes and restaurants.
