The coast here is said to be rich in iodine and, with its therapeutic properties, is recommended for bone diseases. Valdares Beach is huge and the strong waves attract plenty of surfers, it also has very good support facilities. An EEC blue flag beach, it has lifeguards on duty in season and an average summer seawater temperature of 16 ºC. Parking is available and there are restaurants, bars and facilities for the disabled. Umbrellas can be hired.
