Whilst the major attractions of the Vagos area are its ancient sanctuary, beaches and the sea (see separate entries), the lagoons and other items merit attention. About 2.5 km southeast of Vagos, the attractive Sosa parish church has a 17th century statue of St Michael on the rear façade and a stone cross nearby. Restored wind and water mills can be seen at São Romão 6 km to the south of town. Ceramics and wood carving are two of the traditional handicrafts. The tourist office is at Vagueira about 7.5 km wst of Vagos.
