The Unhais de Serra spa is located about 20 km southwest of Trancoso, in beautiful countryside in the Serra da Estrela, at an altitude of 690 metres. There are known references back to the 17th century, but the spa is thought to date much further back than this. The waters are sulphurous, bicarbonated, sodic and hydrosulphide with a pH level of 8.8 and are recommended for the treatment of diseases of the circulatory system, digestive system, rheumatism and musculo-skeletal diseases. Accommodation is available in season.
