Known locally as the Museu do Brinquedo the building contains more than 20,000 items gathered over more than 50 years by João Arbués Moreira. The museum opened in 1989, two years after the formation of the Foundation to which the collection had been donated. Amongst the items are 3,000 year old toys from Egypt, Hornby trains from the 1930s, and some of the first ever toy cars. The facilities include a restoration workshop and a multimedia room; great fun for Dad and the family.
