The ruin of this coastguard’s watchtower overlooking the sea affords a panoramic vista of the coast as far as Cabo de São Vicente and Sagres. The tower itself, the highest point of the Costa Vicentina at an elevation 486 feet, is not very impressive, but the views towards Cape St Vincent to the south and along more than 10 kilometres of the unspoiled beaches of Castelejo, Cordoama, Barriga, Mouranitos, Miroçou and Murração that stretch north to Carrapateira and beyond are breathtaking. A black and white obelisk marks the highest elevation. On a plateau near the Torre de Aspa is a weather station.
