There are dozens of waterfalls on the island of Flores, making it one of the most delightful and luxuriant in the Azores. It is divided by fast-flowing rivulets that form crystal-clear waterfalls. The largest of these is the Ribeira Grande in the district of Fajãzinha, which falls from a height of 300 metres. However, between here and Ponta da Fajã there are 20 more, many of which fall into the sea. The outstanding beauty of these waterfalls is one of many reasons for visiting the most attractive island of the archipelago. Not for nothing is it called the island of Flowers!
