The popular Suave Mar beach, also known as Esposende beach, is surrounded by dunes and within the Litoral de Esposende Protected Landscape. It has direct access from Esposende and there are good conditions throughout the year for surfers, body boarders and windsurfers. The beach is also suitable for sailing and diving and is used for volleyball and football. This is an EEC blue flag beach with lifeguards on duty in season and facilities for the disabled. The average seawater temperature in summer is 15-17 ºC. Parking is available, umbrellas and small craft can be hired, and there are bars, cafes and restaurants.
