The Sítio das Fontes (tide mill at the source of the river) is a place of peace and beauty, located on a branch of the Rio Arade some kilometres north of the village of Estombar. The tide mill has been converted into an eco-museum, making full use of the old mill, miller’s house and waterwheel. An environmental education area has been established here to help preserve the surrounding wetlands. There is an excellent leisure area, with a picnic park and an open-air auditorium.
