St Sebastião Church was built during the mid-18th century and its architectural style is of local inspiration. The sides of the dome and two doorways are adorned with stone masonry in Manueline style, but the main ornamentation of the church is an excellent example of Baroque style. The interior is composed of only one nave with an 18th century altar piece, comprising six images of saints carved in wood by an unknown artist. There is also a stone statue of Nossa Senhora da Piedade, believed to be from the 16th century, which belonged to an earlier chapel.
