Just outside the eastern boundary of Castro Verde is the Chapel of St Sebastian. Built in the 17th century and extensively renovated in the 18th, this is the historic site of St Sebastian’s fair, which is still held here each year. Although humble, the Ermida de São Sebastião is a fine example of the Alentejo´s rural religious style. The main chapel has a single nave, with the Baroque paintings on the walls and the bell tower being the main features of this historic country chapel.
