Located in the central parish of the same name, the well restored Igreja do São Julião is the mother church of Figueira da Foz. Although the earliest known reference to this church was in 1096, little is known about the building’s history before 1716 when reconstruction commenced. The twin towers are the façade’s main interest and, despite 19th century alterations, the interior is typically 17th century. Notable features are the main altar and a smaller stone 16th century altarpiece in a side chapel.
