Located in town below the castle, the Santa Eufémia Church, a listed monument, has the date of 1551 above its attractive portal. Although there are references to the church as early as 1254, the building is mainly from the Renaissance period. One of the features is the chapel dedicated to the Holy Ghost, where the mid-16th century retable is made of Anca stone from Coimbra and there is a 15th century gothic sculpture of the Virgin and Child. The main altar has a Baroque retable with gilt wood carving, whilst the Manueline font utilises a Roman capital.
