The attractive 17th century parish church of São Vicente also has a beautifully decorated interior. The painted ceilings in the body of the church show St Vincent blessing the town and give a good idea of its historic appearance. Over the intricately carved and gilded altar, St Vincent is seen blessing a ship. The Baptistry is also of interest, with its plain stone font surrounded by decorative tiles to both floor and walls. There are many paintings to be seen.
