Located on the outskirts of Ericeira and next to North beach, the small sandy São Sebastião Beach is named after and is overlooked by, the tiny white chapel which stands next to the car park. Lifeguards are on duty in season and conditions are suitable for surfing, body boarding and diving; the beach virtually disappears at high tide. The average summer seawater temperature is 17-18 ºC, there are bars and restaurants, facilities for the disabled, and parking is available.
