Located about 20 km southeast of Torres Vedras and close to the town of Sobral de Monte Agraço, the Roman Gothic São Salvador Chapel has elements which have resisted the ravages of the centuries. There are two intact wide arches which spanned the nave, complete with carved capitals and a third similar arch which delineates the area of the chancel. The supporting columns carry the monograms of the stonemasons. The windows are Romanesque, but the small side door with its broken archivolt and small capitals is Gothic.
