The location of the São Pedro de Moel Beach, sandwiched between a pine forest and the sea and sheltered by cliffs and pleasant housing on the north, does much to account for its popularity. Ideal for the sports enthusiast, it has good year round conditions for surfing and body boarding, a volleyball court and is suitable for diving and fishing. Lifeguards are on duty in season, and parking is available. The average seawater temperature in summer is 16-18 ºC. Umbrellas can be hired and there are bars, cafes and restaurants.
