The Church of São Miguel Arcanjo was commissioned in the 15th century. Remnants from this period include the impressive façade which has a frontispiece ornate with the Cross of Christ. This three-naved church boasts an ogive doorway and a basalt belfry. The church has three naves, with a Gothic triumphal arch, gilded woodwork and figurative azulejo tile panels surrounded by decorative motifs dating from the early 20th century, of Manueline inspiration. Other key features include the high-relief altarpiece of the chapel of the Almas do Purgatório and the 16th century Renaissance style baptismal font.
