The beach resort of São Martinho do Porto lies about 23 kms southwest of Alcobaça and offers 3 kms of sheltered beach in a semi-circle around São Martinho Bay. It provides perfect conditions for children and for nautical sports such as wind surfing, sailing and canoeing. The infrastructure is well developed and there are a number of good restaurants specialising in local gastronomic dishes. The beach is supervised and there are facilities for the disabled, the average summer seawater temperature is 17-19ºC. Other facilities include umbrella and small craft hire. Paragliding is also available.
