São João da Venda is a tiny Algarve village with typically quaint houses and picturesque chimneys. The 16th century church retains a number of Manueline features in its exterior and the vaulting over the main altar. The retable in the main altar has some beautiful paintings from the end of the same century. São João da Venda is the closest village to the stunning Estádio Algarve, described as arguably the most boldly designed stadium built to host matches during football’s UEFA EURO 2004.
