The Capela de São Jerónimo, also known as the Ermida de São Jerónimo, is situated in the Jardim Ducla Soares in Belém. It was built in 1514 by Rodrigues Afonso, but it is thought the design may have been by Diogo Boitac, who was working on the Jerónimos Monastery at the time. Although a much simpler building, it is also Manueline in style and the conical pinnacles at each corner and the gargoyles are similar to details on the monastery. The façade features the royal shield, crown and two armillary spheres. There are fine views down to the River Tagus.
