This unspoiled beach is at the southern end of the stretch of land separating the Ria de Aveiro estuary from the sea. It covers a long stretch of coastline and is alongside the São Jacinto Dune Nature Reserve, a protected area with unique species of fauna and flora. It is best approached by ferry across the estuary, to go by car involves going via Torreira or Ovar. The conditions are good for surfing and body boarding. São Jacinto is an EEC blue flag beach, has facilities for the disabled, is partially covered by lifeguards and the average summer seawater temperature is 16 ºC.
