Located south of Espinho, between the beaches of Costa Verde to the north and Paramos to the south, Silvalde Beach adjoins an agricultural and fishing suburb of the same name. There are strong waves, giving rise to good surfing and body boarding conditions, yet there is calmer water for swimming than on the neighbouring Espinho beaches. Lifeguards are on duty in season, there are facilities for the disabled and bars, cafés, and restaurants. The average seawater temperature in summer (ºC) is 15-18 ºC.
