Sesimbra Beach is in a sheltered bay and has calm waters which make it ideal and safe for children, it is also popular with underwater fishermen. The long stretch of beach, with a small harbour at one end, is divided into various areas including California and Ouro (which has disabled facilities). The beach has EEC Blue Flag Status and the average seawater temperature in summer is 17-18 ºC; lifeguards are in attendance in season. Suitable for surfing, windsurfing and diving, parking is available and there are plenty of restaurant and bar facilities. Umbrellas and small craft can be hired.
