The Serra do Caramulo offers not only the Caramulinho and Cabeça da Neve (see separate entry), but a complete experience of nature. You can walk along old Roman roads and relax by the pure mountain springs once used by them. There are picturesque villages such as Marruge and Molelos, which is well known for its traditional black clay pottery, available to buy in a variety of decorative forms. You will also find dolmens and menhirs from past centuries.
