East of Pombal, the mountainous scenery of the Serra de Sicó offers outstanding views, stone villages, caves and the magnificent valley of the river Anços. The Sicó Massif has an incredible subterranean world, which has been created where water has formed caves, such as those at Taliscas and the Várzea-Dueça cave network. Try the Sicó Mountain cheeses and the cakes in the shape of birds and girls. This is also an area of traditional handicrafts such as carpets, wicker baskets and mats, ceramics and weaving.
