North of Tabuaço, the Romanesque church of the Senhora do Sabroso Sanctuary is of great historical and religious importance as it was the first church to be built after the Christian Reconquest by King Afonso Henriques (1139-1185). Processions are held on the last Sunday in May and on the 15th August and from time to time other municipal ceremonies are held on the site. The church has sepulchres of nobles and there are remains from the various civilizations which have inhabited the castro through the ages.
