The Senhor do Socorro Sanctuary had a Brazilian patron and is located close to Labruja, approximately 11 km north of Ponte de Lima. Construction started in 1773 and the church has a twin towered Rococo façade; the site has a number of religious statues including trumpeting angels on the main staircase. The church has a single nave and the two carved altarpieces are by Manuel Martins da Cunha from nearby Vila Nova de Cerveira. The sanctuary has been little altered since completion around 1778.
