Located north of Miramar beach and about 10.5 km southwest of Vila Nova de Gaia, this very popular beach derives its name from the hexagonal Senhor da Pedra chapel, which is built on rocks on the southern end of the beach. The important pilgrimage to this chapel takes place in June, on the three days beginning on Holy Trinity Sunday. This is an EEC blue flag beach with lifeguards on duty in season and facilities for the disabled. The average seawater temperature in summer is 16 ºC. Parking is available, umbrellas can be hired and there are bars, cafes and restaurants.
