Seiça is located about 20 km southeast of Figueira da Foz, close to Paião. The Baroque 17th century Nossa Senhora de Seiça Chapel is a place of pilgrimage on the 15th August, when the festival of the patron saint takes place. Octagonal in shape with a domed roof, it has been classified as a building of Public Interest since 1970. In the 12th century King Afonso Henriques had a Benedictine monastery built here, but all that remains today from a 17th century restoration, are the imposing façade and side towers.
