The Sanctuary of Senhor Jesus do Bonfim is found on the road to Castelo de Vide and Marvăo. Also known as the Church of Bonfim, its construction was ordered in 1720 by Bishop Álvaro Pires de Castro Noronha. Throughout the 18th century, it was an important place of pilgrimage and housing was built to shelter pilgrims. The Baroque exterior, although simple, is charming. On the inside are numerous gold-leafed carvings, polychromatic plastering, azuelo tiles and Rococo canvases depicting scenes from the Passion of Christ. The annual pilgrimage is held on the last Sunday in September.
