Located just outside the village of Vila Meã, about 9 km south of Lamego, the 15th century former Ferreirim Convent was founded by the last Count of Marialva, Dom Francisco, and built on the family estate. The land for the Santo António Church was donated to the church in 1425. The tower had already been built towards the end of the 14th century and the Gothic main portal dates from the 16th century. The porch was added in the 18th century.
