The chapel of Santa Maria Madelena is in the attractive area of Mount Falperra, about 6 km southeast of Braga. It was designed by André Soares da Silva in 1750 for Archbishop Rodrigo de Moura Teles. Built in Rococo style and approached by an impressive staircase, which is typical of the area, its ornate exterior is regarded as a fine example of this architectural style. The interior is richly decorated; the tiles are 18th century by Policarpo de Oliveira Fernandes
