The terrace (Miradouro) by the Santa Luzia church is one of the best viewpoints in Lisbon, giving sweeping views over Alfama and the River Tagus. The cupola of Santa Engrácia is a good landmark. The south wall of the old church has two tiled panels of interest; one of the Christians attacking St George’s Castle in 1147 and the other of Praça do Comércio, prior to the earthquake. The Bougainvillia-clad pergola is a delightful place to have a drink.
