The Romantic Museum reproduces the interior of a rich 19th century house, and the various aspects of decorative art of the period are noteworthy. Charles Albert, the King of Piedmont and Sardinia died here in exile on 28 July 1849, and some of the rooms he lived in have been restored and contain samples of his personal effects. There is also the Solar do Vinho do Porto bar run by the Instituto do Vinho where you can sample some of the best vintages.
