The Roman ruins of Ammaia comprise the vestiges of the former Roman city of Ammaia. The ruins include part of the Roman road and the bridge, known as the Old Bridge, that crosses the River Sever. Sections of the remains show where temples and houses once stood, with columns still reaching skywards. Paved areas show courtyards and give visitors a glimpse into a different age when the Roman Empire included most of southern Europe. Some of the walls look a little precarious, but one can still imagine life as it used to be.
