The river beach of Fronteira is one of the most beautiful areas in the region. The old bridge over the Ribeira Grande provides a wonderful viewing point. With dilapidated mills being renovated to provide places of culture, tourism and an eco-museum showing the conservation of the flora and fauna, visiting the area is a delight. Facilities include restaurants, bars and the hire of boats. Nature trails are clearly signposted and are perfect for ramblers and cyclist to enjoy.
