The river beach of Monforte is situated close to the old Roman Bridge over the Ribeira Grande. This is the perfect place for families and water sports enthusiasts to spend many happy hours. The beach is well equipped and facilities include toilets, bar, restaurant and children’s play park. There is ample car parking available. A weir is under construction to improve the swimming and fishing facilities. Access is very straightforward as the beach is signposted from Monforte.
