Ribeira Quente is a typically pretty fishermen’s village based in a natural seawater inlet with access to a quiet, lonely shell-like beach called Praia do Fogo. The road that connects Furnas to Ribeira Quente has magnificent waterfalls and is surrounded by woods, slopes, gardens, small streams and luxurious vegetation. Ribeira Quente’s beach is the meeting point for both locals and tourists throughout the summer months. The limpid water hides hot water spots heated by submerged hot springs.
