The House of Culture is the showpiece of Ribera Grande. The museum is installed in the former manor house of São Vicente, which was built in the 18th century. The Ribeira Grande House of Culture presents ethnographic and azulejo tile collections, dating from the 16th to 20th centuries. The collections include a curious crib that belonged to the parish priest, Evaristo Carreiro Gouveia and an 18th century statue of São Vicente de Ferreira as well as a carved woodwork altarpiece in the manor house’s Chapel.
