One of Raposeira’s claims to fame is that it is one of the places where Prince Henry the Navigator lived. There are several houses with 15th and 16th century doors. The church was founded in the 16th century and the Manueline doorways at the front and side, the bell tower with an octagonal pyramid, the arch of the main altar and, at the back, a curious corbel with a human face remind the visitor of its former glories. The lateral retables are carved and gilded depicting St. Michael crushing the demon. Nearby in Barreiros are two groups of menhirs.
