The museum presents the evolution of sound broadcasting and production from its earliest days and it has one of the biggest collections of its kind in Europe. There are more than 1,000 radios on display from the 1920s to the 1970s and the museum’s subject matter covers radio studios, broadcasting and reception equipment, recording media and microphones. The exhibits are displayed in 20 rooms, some of which are themed. There is a specialist library and one area is devoted to the 90 years of amateur radio in Portugal.
