The village of Rabaçal lies approximately 6 km west of Penela and its Igreja Matriz has been subject to a number of alterations, most noticeably in the 18th century. The church has a single aisle and chapel and its outstanding feature is the carved wood retable with a painting relating to the patron saint, Mary Magdalene. The two side altars have finely carved late 17th century altars, together with images of Santa Teresa and São Domingos set in niches.
