Situated with the Ria Formosa as its backdrop, the Quinta do Lago South course is famous throughout the world of international golf. Designed by William Mitchell and inaugurated in 1974, it has a wide variety of approaches to the greens. The course hosted the Portuguese Open in 1976, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990 and 2001 and it was here that Colin Montgomerie gained his first professional title, winning the Portuguese Open in 1989. Facilities include: Driving Range, Putting and Chipping Green, Trolleys, Buggies, Club Hire, Ball machine, Caddie, Boutique, Academy, Group and Indivual Lessons, Club House, Restaurant and Bar.
