The Quinta das Torres is located on the N10 national road, between the towns of Vila Fresca and Vila Nogueira de Azeitão, about 19 kms west of Setubal. It dates from around 1560 and is considered one of the most important and beautiful examples of Renaissance country architecture. Of particular interest is the series of Majolica tiles with scenes from the Aeneid, which are believed to be from Urbino in Italy. Next to the building is a small lake in the centre of which is a pavilion in the form a cupola supported on 12 columns.
