Situated adjacent to the port and close to the main beach and the casino, the marina has moorings for 241 boats up to 18 metres long. Póvoa is a busy fishing port and you can occasionally see one of the traditional open sailing boats. The fishing community used to be very close and married within their circle, with family boat insignias passed down from generation to generation. The local yacht club, the Clube Naval Povoense, offers many sporting activities and organizes several regattas, including the Costa Verde Trophy between Póvoa and Viana do Castelo; it also has a restaurant.
