The literal translation of Praia Verde is Green Beach and this gem gets its name from the vast area of stone pines covering the gentle slopes of the hills all the way to the sand. The car park is sited in a planted garden area equipped with tourist facilities and offering a fabulous panoramic view of the coastline. There is a footpath from there to the beach, which is approximately 100 metres away. In the middle of the beach, which is supervised during the bathing season, there is a curious old pool that grows in size when the tide carries sand away.
