Praia dos Alteirinhos is in the heart of the Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina Natural Park. It is peaceful with fine, golden sand and is sheltered from the prevailing winds by a tall cliff. Car parking is on top of one of these cliffs. The beach contains a number of isolated coves, which are often used by naturists. To the south of Alteirinhos lies Meia or Meia Laranja Beach where low tide reveals some curious rock formations. The beach is not supervised and the average seawater temperature in summer is17-18 ºC.
